AI Tools for Personal Branding
Essential Guide to Getting Started with the Latest AI Tools
Free and affordable AI tools enable personal brands to level up in ways unimaginable just a few months ago. And this is how you get started: by doing in an afternoon what would otherwise require a lot of work from an expensive professional.
Use the Easiest Tool Available
I see people getting unnecessarily dragged down by overthinking which tool to use. There are many powerful and complex tools available, but when starting out, you should always choose the easiest and most popular one.
That way, you quickly see results and learn the basics. Using popular tools also means you have access to numerous tutorials and guides that walk you through each step. It is only after diving in this way that you begin to understand the limitations of certain tools and what you might need in the future. So, start simple.
The Basics
Generative AI is not always perfect and might produce media with odd aspect ratios. To fully utilize your AI creations for your brand, you need to edit them in an appropriate program to bring them up to standard.
If you have never used other creative tools before, I recommend getting Canva, CapCut, and Audacity. They are all free and allow you to perform basic image, audio, and video editing.
AI Image Generation
Created with Leonardo AI
There are many AI image generators available today. Leonardo AI, Ideogram, and Pikaso on Freepik are powerful tools you can start using for free right away.
With these tools, you can create images for your profile picture, header, and thumbnails in a quality that would have cost you thousands just a year ago.
If you need higher resolutions for print products, for example, AI upscalers like the one included in the Leonardo subscription can upscale your images to 4K resolution.
AI Sound and Music
Voice, sound, and music are some of the most advanced AI modalities currently available and are nearly indistinguishable from the real thing.
ElevenLabs can provide you with AI-generated voices and sound effects for your podcasts and videos. The library of professional voice clones is especially worth exploring.
For music, Suno and Udio are your top choices. Both allow you to generate music for free and offer relatively inexpensive plans if you need more.
AI Video
Video AI is not perfect yet, and you need to experiment to discover its utility. However, generators like Luma and Runway can be extremely useful for producing intros for videos or small ads.
Large Language Models
I don't recommend using LLMs like ChatGPT to write your posts, but they can act as an editor. Show them what you have written, let them correct it, and have them provide additional input.
More importantly, they can teach you how to use the other tools effectively. They know everything about color palettes, aspect ratios, and video transitions, and they are willing to teach you for free. Do not underestimate what they can do for you in this regard.
Personal Media Empire
Using all of these tools enables a single person to accomplish what only professional publications could do before.
That alone doesn't make you successful, of course, but it certainly levels the playing field. There has never been a better time for individual voices and creators.
